Frugal Homeschooler: Purim

Hey everyone! It is almost Purim!!! Purim starts at sundown on February 27, 2010 and goes until sundown on March 1st. (Why it is 2 days is a different blog post;) But I am here to provide you with a few sites that have free Purim resources!

Of course there is always the homemade noise makers so you can boo Haman and cheer Mordechai!

Homemade treats are almost always frugal. So go make some traditional Hamantachen!

For some printable Esther coloring sheet you can go over to Coloring.ws for some great choices.

Artists Helping Children has a ton of great projects like beaded crowns and masks with different printable options for your kids to make for their Purim pageants.

Chabad has a great Purim site with a link to an entire kids area. There you will find all kinds of literature, recipes and more!

Enjoy Purim! It is a joyous and fun holiday that reminds us of God's faithfulness.

Curious George 2 Soundtrack: Review and Giveaway!

My kids were so stoked when they saw me open up this CD. They absolutely love Curious George and frankly, who doesn't love Curious George;)? My whole family had really enjoy A Very Monkey Christmas so we were all looking forward to Follow that Monkey!

I know that many of you parents are groaning, "Not another kids cd". Well, this Curious George CD is a little different. The music is a little more mature than you might expect. The music is still fun but not as bubbly as many silly kids cds. My kids all like the CD but didn't think it was as Curious Georgey as the other CD but really good (their words;).

Metro Mama Wrap

I have had 4 kids and didn't discover the Metro Mama wrap until my last kid. Now I am not a big baby wearer but their are times when it just makes you life so much easier. But I wasted a fair amount of time and money trying to figure out how. I did a chest pack with kid #1 and it helped with his reflux but it was a pain to put on and get him in and out. I had a sling with #2 and it just didn't seem that secure. But with #4 I used a friend's wrap and it was awesome. I could put the baby in it and pick up another child, empty a dishwasher, whatever. I didn't have to use a hand to stabilize her or anything! Here is a great how-to video on using the wrap.
